Review on πŸ–οΈ Smithsonian Mold-It! Silicone Hand Mold Kit by Kelsey Brown

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not bad for the price but got some

It was just ok and came from an art teacher who knows a lot of casting materials. Definitely not big enough for most kids 9+ to fit comfortably in their hands and the amount of cast was quite minimal could definitely use more in the set. Ease of use was pretty decent, direct instructions, everything is self contained which was a big plus and the pouring time from starting the mold making to pouring the plaster was acceptable. Note! Be sure to use newspapers or similar under the box, both during use and afterwards, to protect surfaces from moisture that will leak out of the box. If you plan to do subsequent pours, you should do so soon after the mold is made as well. The material that makes up the mold shrinks and hardens. but not before it really, really stinks and molds.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
