We bought an "S" size for our 12.5 lb adult Havana after he was neutered. Our dog measures 9" around the neck and 8" from neck to nose. It fits perfectly although it overlaps itself when worn around the neck (similar to how the velcro is not fully on itself but slightly overlaps). This completely prevents him from licking his crotch. He hates it and runs around the house but we love it. The Velcro closure and overall design make it very easy to put on and take off this cone and adjust the tightness around the neck. The part that goes around the neck is not sharp. The cone is stiff and prevents the dog from taking it off or turning it over, which I understand can be a problem with some plush cones and fully soft fabric cones. I can't tell if it's comfortable (I haven't tried it!) but ANY cone will be uncomfortable for the dog. Look no further, just make sure you choose the right size.
