I bought MK808TS and LAUNCH X431 because I was having trouble programming IMMO keys for one of my machines. Both units claimed they could do it, but ultimately neither could. A closer look at both devices reveals that while the MK808TS is a nice big tablet and has a really professional build quality, it is seriously lacking in software. The UI forces you to cycle through all sorts of screens to do things, and you have to keep coming back to the main screen to change what you want to do. In comparison, LAUNCH X431 has a really great software that allows you to access all kinds of diagnostics and manage special functions without having to go back to the main menu. All of this is combined in one easy-to-use program. The LAUNCH X431 is also about $100 cheaper and comes with lots of adapters. If I had to choose, every day I would choose the LAUNCH block over the MaxiCOM block just because of the software. Using the LAUNCH device is really much easier. Apart from that, MaxiCOM has a really nice form factor and excellent build quality. In terms of hardware, it's a lot more like a custom device. Ease of use is what lets MaxiCOM down.
