When I received this bag I was pleasantly surprised by the small details which I didn't really think about but always annoyed/cautious of other systems. The system can be divided into three parts, so I'll talk about each of them separately. Bag: has a completely smooth surface, is durable, easy to open and has a comfortable grip. The hose inlet is at the bottom of the bag. The smooth surface allows water to drip and bead easily, so you don't end up with a wet bag when you're in a hurry. Shake briefly and you're done. The hose detaches with a quick release mechanism, but the QR system also has a built-in valve so you can detach the hose, fill the bag, then reattach the hose to the bag and get started. This is important if you need to route the tube through the dedicated hydration tube hole at the top of the bag. Usually the bag needs to be within 30 cm from the water source, but thanks to this you can easily disconnect and reconnect them when filling the 3 liter bag. Hose: Has quick disconnects on both ends. One end goes into the drinking bag, the other end into the mouthpiece. The hose itself is lightly insulated to keep it warm on hot days; It's noticeable that the water is actually warmer, but it's also noticeably colder than other systems I've used like the Osprey, Platypus, and Camelbak. The hose itself is a replaceable item that can be purchased separately. So if algae is building up in your tube you can investigate - this is the number one reason I replace a hydration bag in my existing hydration systems. Again, the hose uses self-sealing quick-release mechanisms, so you can unclip things and water doesn't splash all over the place. Mouthpiece: twist and lock design. It comes with a dust cover attached with a thin thread. To drink, twist it to unlock the mouthpiece, then use it like an inexpensive bike water bottle. Most mouthpieces on the market require you to bite or squeeze the mouthpiece to get the water flowing, but this is a simpler mechanism. So if you drop the hose without closing it, water will leak everywhere (possible contamination). ). . This is also an interchangeable item. So if you damage it, you can only replace the mouthpiece, not the entire hydration system. The second small minus is that the dust cap gets in the way a lot when trying to put the cap on the hose. ; the threads that attach it to the hose connect at a fixed point to the mouthpiece on the outside of the elbow, and if it twists like mine, you can't put it back on the mouthpiece without looking at it. It's a minor point and I could just pop the dust cap off, but since I use it for cycling that happens to me a lot and it's not exactly an option to look at while going 25mph. Since it's just a piece of cord, to get around this problem when I can get a replacement cord that's the right size, I simply cut the existing one and replace it with a slightly longer one - the dust cap won't sit that close of the mouthpiece, but regardless of the line orientation I should be able to replace the dust cap on the mouthpiece.
