Review on Canon 24 70Mm 2 8L Standard Zoom by Somchai Somchai ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I'm amazed! It was definitely worth the money!

Canon has the best zoom at this focal length. The perfect choice for a reporter. The perfect wedding choice. At a wedding, you can use it as the only one and not take a portrait lens out of your backpack if you wish - the final quality of even portraits does not leave the feeling of "hack work". Ideally fast and tenacious autofocus when combined with 5DM3. I have the first version of Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM. The second version is a big step forward: sharpness like a fix, soap and noise is decently less. The lens is definitely worth the money, an investment for years to come. What they wrote there that he has more plastic in the design is nonsense. In the hand and on the body, the feeling is a monolith, the backlash with the 5DM3 carcass is zero. He already managed to drop it on a stool, from which he fell onto the tiled floor - he doesn’t care, it works perfectly. Only the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM loses in terms of artistic merit, the beauty of bokeh and the overall "depth" of the picture. Focus range aside, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM remains Canon's best zoom, the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II US comes in second.

Pros
  • - sharp as a fix, except for jokes - quick - all diaphragms are working, honest 2.8 - Virtually no chromatic aberrations – perfect match for 5DM3
Cons
  • – bokeh worse than Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM - less artistic than Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM
