I applied this to my skin and was amazed at how easy it was. I was apprehensive about buying it based on the reviews I read and was willing to use a hammer with a punch tool, but the pliers worked great. I was able to follow the "instructions" - it's basically a picture, but if you're careful you'll get the direction of the pieces - and just use the pliers. I used it on sheepskin so it may be different with very thin fabric. I was able to close the open door twice and it looked fine, but it's possible that with heavy use it will eventually fall apart, time will tell.
