I bought this product for my mother in law who is a woman of a certain age. I helped her grow her facial hair but her skin became very sensitive. It's a lot softer. It rips or tears the top layer of her skin and I can still get a lasting effect because it works so well. Normally someone needs to shave every few days but this removes all loose hair and shaves very closely so it lasts over a week. Because there's no exposed blade, she can do it herself without worrying about getting cut. I like that it's rechargeable because I don't use disposable batteries for environmental reasons. We've used it a few times and it hasn't had to be charged yet.
