Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked amazing for a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Edit (06/02/2020): I've been using the key fob for a little over a year and the cover has fallen off. It broke right in the bolt hole. I didn't drop or hit him. Broke by itself. I might hold it back for now, but deduct a star. Edit (9/6/2019): Both buttons work great. However, I would like to point out two small inconveniences: 1. The panic alarm is triggered by simply pressing the panic button. You don't have to hold it like you would any other normal keychain. This is much more likely to lead to false panic alarms, which are annoying and add to stressful situations. I wish you had to hold down the panic button for a few seconds to trigger a panic alarm. I eventually learned to avoid these situations by being much more careful with this keychain as opposed to my original 2014.2 4runner keychain. The range is probably half that of the original 2014 4runner OEM key fob. However, this doesn't really add to my inconvenience as I tend to use the key fob when it's near the car. I received my 2007 FJ Cruiser with a non-genuine key and separate key fob which is inconvenient. The key was badly worn, the key fob fell apart. I wanted something like my 2014 4Runner: a key with an integrated fob. People on the FJ forum have recommended this product and it's great! The quality is OEM level and the fobs work just as well as my 4Runner fobs. All you have to do is find a good local locksmith and cut the key. It is best to request your car key number from the dealer. You will need proof of ownership and a VIN number and will be given a key number free of charge. Keeping this key number secret is very important because if someone finds out, they can make the exact key to unlock and start your car. In any case, give the locksmith your new key fob and key number and you will receive a key that fits your car perfectly. Just in case I gave him my worn out key to make sure the key number matched. It cost me $7.99 per key including tax. Next comes the programming. Just search Google for programming a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. It's a bit tricky at first and I'm sure it will take a few tries to program. Programming a key fob is even more difficult, which can be done within 40 seconds of programming the key itself. You have to do strange things like opening and closing the door and reinserting the key. Surprisingly, I didn't even need a master key. So my total cost is $44.99 + $7.99 + $7.99 and I have two perfectly working keychains for my 2007 FJ that look just as good as my 2014 4Runner keychains.
