Confirmed my turntable downforce setting is correct.
I took out my double turntable, cleaned it and bought a new pickup. I checked the cartridge tracking force with this gauge and the Dual's mechanical settings were accurate. I shouldn't have doubted the excellent German engineering of the Dual! Some have mentioned the difficulty of removing batteries for long-term storage. My answer was to just remove the top battery (easy to do) and keep it safe. The lower battery has no electrical contact with the removed upper battery, so both batteries should be stored for many years.
