is too stupid. I bought this camera for a 9 day rafting trip down the Colorado River. I was able to document the trip and take some good photos. It was protected from water and sand. I had two complaints: the lack of a manual mode and the short battery life. Now I couldn't find the manual mode and found that sometimes with the texture of rock strata and flowing water the camera didn't know what to focus on and what light source to measure. I didn't feel like I had the ability to adequately manipulate those two settings for the photos I wanted to take. The battery lasted a little over a day. I took a second battery with me but used a solar charger every day to stay ahead of the game. The good news was that the solar charger charged them; The bad news was that I was able to charge just enough for 24 hours in the 1-1.5 hour lunch break. Others on my raft had cameras with batteries that lasted the entire trip. I give this camera to my sister to use with her granddaughter in the pool and on the beach. I think it would be a great camera for this type of use.
