I grew up with this watch. My mother had one for almost 15 years. When I saw this, I had to buy it. Some of these reviews almost made me stop buying. I'm so glad I wasn't listening. It's not that bright when I hit the snooze button to dim it (high, medium and no light). It's more of a soft night light with blue tints. I can also see the display from every angle and it's quiet when the display changes time. The radio has an old school flat sound but excellent FM/AM reception. It won't surprise you like Bose, but I only use it for alarms, not for fun, and for $22, what you expect. It includes a battery in case the lights go out. This clock is very easy to install and use. I don't know why other reviewers had such a difficult time setting up the watch (no neuroscience and only 3 buttons to press during setup). It's not real wood, it's plastic, like the real 70's watch they take inspiration from. The plastic is tactile, but not at first glance. I love the style and appeal it brings to my bedroom. In my opinion, this 70's inspired flip clock is amazing!
