I can use it twice before I have to fill the canister. I just leave it plugged in, so I'm not sure how the battery works without plugging it in. It drains pretty quickly when I use the cable to charge something else. If I had bought two smaller ones for my kids I would have bought more of them. Worth buying! The night light is perfect and not too bright on my bedside table. Produces good fog. I recommend this little humidifier.
