What I love about the Coffee Gentry French Press is that it has EVERYTHING you need to make coffee. The Long Mixing Spoon is a thoughtful addition to a set that many French presses don't have. While there is tons of information online about using a French Press, the instructions that came with it were simple and straightforward. This French Press makes 2 cups. Coffee which is great if you have a friend. For personal use, I only brew one cup at a time. It would be nice if the press came with a label on the glass stating the amount of water needed for just one cup. I've never seen a French Press with this feature, and the Coffee Gentry is no exception. It doesn't matter, as I've found that for a cup of coffee, water needs to be added about an inch above the brand name on the glass. An unexpected feature of this press is the black plastic that covers the press and also makes up the handle. The last two presses I owned died in my kitchen sink. It slides into the trash can and breaks when it hits the sink. The plastic on the press actually provided some protection for the glass, as I accidentally discovered this benefit when cleaning it this morning. It went the way of all my old presses and started sliding towards the garbage chute after being covered in dish soap. The plastic parts of the press touched the sides of the sink rather than the glass itself, which kept the press intact! This is a beautiful coffee press and with the replacement filters and accessories included makes a great gift!
