This needle set works great for its intended purpose except it is difficult to determine the size of each needle without a digital caliper. The length gives an indication, but there's really no difference between a size 6 and 7, or between a size 8 and 9. Anyone who has been serious about embroidery knows that embroidery/hairpin needles have to be very small and thin. Yes, they are difficult to cut and break easily if not used for their intended purpose. The product is not to blame. It is completely wrong to assume that the needles are too small for embroidery. In fact, the Royal School of Needlework recommends a size 9 for handmade wool thread.
