I really liked it, perfect price for a beginner, I liked the old school look of the canvas. We spent a long time looking for how and with what to fill it. I decided on the following recipe: a piece of carpet 1 bag long, folded inwards, soft side against the canvas. This kept the bag open and gave a harder, non-lumpy impact surface - 1st layer on bottom, shredded cotton t-shirts worth about 2 inches - 10 pounds of gravel in a garbage bag - 5-6 inches of shredded cotton - another 10 pounds Gravel in a garbage bag - 2 queen pillows, another crumpled and crushed - 10 pounds of fine gravel in a garbage bag covered with some old blankets and zipped up. Everything was stuffed like a giant 2x4 mash stick. The bag was raised and lowered a few times to make sure everything settled down and there were no weird lumps. I estimate the total weight with the chains attached was about 60 pounds. It was heavy, but I could lift it up the stairs with one hand, so it couldn't be too heavy. The first session felt like Rocky Balboa, jabs here, crosses there, some uppercuts, it was great. , the "middle" was softer because it was cloth, but there were also hard sections of fine gravel. I heard you need to work through a few sessions and then add more material to fill up the backlog. Unfortunately I never came to this place. After only 2 sessions, remember I'm a noob so let's talk max 15 minute sessions, no kicks, no hangs, no kids. Tonight at my second session I noticed that 3 of the 4 tabs where the chains attach had their stitching torn. The bag isn't too heavy, I didn't treat it too harshly, just poor workmanship or weird sloppiness. Luckily there is no problem with the return policy, well I have to empty it but at least I get a refund.
