Review on Capresso 560 01 Infinity Conical Grinder by Patrick Reid

Fine dust in the grounds is clogging the filter

I bought this particular coffee grinder off Amazon probably five years ago and recently the plastic part that attaches to the top when you rotate the basket to the desired grind setting broke gone out. The plastic has been very strong throughout its life (I've dropped it more than once) but this particular part must have been stressed. This is a design flaw in my opinion, but I was still willing to buy the coffee grinder again even though everything else works fine. I got a new grinder and it looks great, but when I grind it on the highest speed (the only setting I've ever used as I only overflow) I noticed that the grind seems finer than mine previous mill. It doesn't matter that they're still as big as salt, but now that I'm using it for the third time, I can see that it also has a thick layer of dust on it, so big it's clogging my filter. I'm very unimpressed. In the last five years something has gone wrong or I've gotten a broken one because there has never been a problem before. That's why I bought this grinder, so I wouldn't have a problem with a cheap grinder with extra fine dust and normal grinds. not quality. So I'm coming back and I'm not sure I'll buy it again. Maybe it's just the wrong brand of coffee grinder. Update: I replaced my coffee grinder with a different one and am having the exact same issue. I am very, very disappointed. Rest assured that people only use this for espresso or in a french press where you won't notice the fine powder when grinding. There is TON. It's like half the grist is a fluffy, fine powder. How is it correct? I wouldn't complain if it looked a bit like my old version of this coffee grinder. They've obviously gone under. I haven't decided what to do - go back and look for another one or just deal with it.

Pros

Cons
