Review on ThinOptics Frontpage Manhattan Reading Glasses: Sleek Style and Protective Milano Aluminum Case by Wendy Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very good but. . .

I've been a ThinOptics fan since I attached the clip to the back of my cell phone. That meant I always had readers to browse restaurant menus or read the fine print on my phone. The only downsides were that the glasses were uncomfortable for long periods of use and the wireless charging on my phone was a bit wonky. With some loads it didn't work at all, while with others it had to be positioned accurately. So I was excited to see the new full-size readers in a magnetic case. These lightweight readers are VERY lightweight and comfortable. The case is thin and keeps the glasses in the perfect position. Although it is not easy to open the case (the previous ones just slipped out and were held by friction), this is not a problem. The big problem is the magnet holding it to the phone. Apparently, wireless charging is done through the glass on the back of the phone. Accordingly, the case does not hold very well by the magnet. In fact, he barely sticks to the case. Finally, the case is very large and covers the camera of my Note 8. This didn't bother me too much as I was able to remove the case from the phone before taking the picture. Of course, if you need to stick the case on with double-sided tape, it will permanently block the camera. The rest of the glasses are excellent. If you have a phone with a metal back or want to attach it to something else, that would be great. I will keep it in my pocket next to my wallet. While it's not as convenient as being permanently connected to my phone, it's more comfortable to use.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
