Update: Checked again, tightly closed, when you go to the car with the box, you can open the car and drive away as normal. So it doesn't work anymore, completely useless. Nice box but certainly not worth the dollar for just a box with no advertised functionality. Unfortunately my returns window is closed, I bought this some time before my new car arrived to have on hand on day one. I contacted the seller to see what they have to say. Old review: I was hoping this would work by simply dropping the key and slamming the lid, but it didn't. Connected to the car, the doors open normally. As soon as I snap this shackle it works. A slightly annoying extra step that shouldn't be necessary. The box itself looks very nice and is well made, so it still deserves 3 stars. It's just odd that the shielding doesn't work when the lid is open just a tiny bit, like less than 1mm at the front.
