Rust and damaged paint
I've owned them for less than a season and in Illinois so there hasn't been salt water and the screws rust like crazy and dripping caustic rust onto my paint. I had to spend money to buy good Thule or Yakima racks. It's not worth saving at all if they can't last even a year. Finally, they are difficult to tighten on the bars. They love to twist and move and need constant tugging. I wish I could go back, get my money back and buy a decent carrier.
