It's fun! Finally I hung up my lanterns and thought about where to put them. This time I hung them along the large front deck railing. I had several spots where they would fit perfectly because they are long. They give off a very pleasant light. Soft, not sharp at all, so placing it at eye level is very comfortable for the eyes. Please watch my video if you want to see how 6 out of 8 lighting options are rendered. I had to put 3 AA batteries in the power supply and then place the power supply somewhere out of sight. I left it for the picture. I love that I don't need an outlet to use them. I can also use the remote from the inside of my sliding glass door and it transmits the signal to the box with no problem. I did this from a distance of 10 feet. I haven't experimented with how far I could go. Just make sure you're clearly pointing at the box. This means that your box cannot be hidden out of the range of the signals. I like them and plan to buy a second set for another deck.
