Review on Efficient DMX Signal Amplification: Stellar Labs 8 Way Isolated DMX Splitter - 3-Pin to 3-Pin by Mark Gardner

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Been working for an hour and is now behaving chaotically.

Just received. Good product. Excellent quality. And no more daisy chains for me. It seems my previous enthusiastic review was a little premature. When I received the device just last week, all the LEDs (including the amber power LED) were flashing when I turned it on, but eventually, after about five minutes, this stopped and the device seemed to be working perfectly. Same thing this morning, all LEDs are flashing and the instruments are behaving erratically. The device has been running for more than three hours and the LEDs are still flashing. Reported the initial problem to the supplier and was informed that the unit would "eventually" stabilize (the LEDs would stop blinking) and if not, it was a "channel error" (whatever that means). There is definitely nothing wrong with my mounts or cables as they work great now that I have to reassemble them. Cannot contact tech support as it is currently closed. If there is a solution I will edit my review again. Update: After that the device stopped working. Revain kindly refunded my money and I bought another piece of equipment from another manufacturer that works like clockwork (GBGS isolated DMX splitter 2 in 8 out DJ data stream a DMX512 universal stage lighting optical amplifier , mobile DJ system) (please refer to my review, ie the product description, while technically correct, is a bit misleading). I probably wouldn't update here (details on another product) but felt sorry for Revain ie. They solved the problem without any problems, but the manufacturers of this device were nowhere to be found and the dealers were of little help. In my opinion the distributors should have sent me another unit right away and Revain shouldn't have transferred the credit but they didn't want to.

Pros
  • 3-pin XLR, 3-pin input
Cons
  • Something else
