Amcrest 1080-Lite 8CH DVR

Update after 9 months: The device was working fine but last week I noticed that the HDMI port has stopped working. 2 stars deducted. Wouldn't recommend the device. Good: Bought to get better cameras. I started using Amcrest 960H cameras about 2 years ago. They work great, good color, good after dark with night vision. Bought an Amcrest 1080p camera and an Amcrest 720p camera for improved night vision. Unfortunately the 1080-Lite DVR does not support 1920x1080 on the Amcrest 1080P camera (960x1080 only). But as you can see from the picture, they work much better than the old cameras. The Bad: The only problem I have with the Amcrest 1080-Lite DVR is the motion detection setting. It should record 5 seconds of video before actually detecting motion, but only does so when the camera switches from day to night mode (color to black and white). That way someone can walk through the zone and the software will just indicate that nothing is happening. After a month of use and checking the Amcrest forums, the pre-record doesn't seem to do anything. For this issue, I've lowered the rating to 3 stars.
