Very loud at first but then decreases
The noise from this filter is terrible. It makes a loud crunch that I can hear from every room in the house. I didn't notice a huge difference in suction power with the Aqueon QuietFlow 10 we replaced, which was much quieter (lasted about a year). I will throw out. The second star is for ease of installation. Update February 2021 This old review caught my attention when someone rated it useful. I wanted to update my review as this filter has faded after a few weeks of use. I don't know why, but after a while it didn't make any more noise than the old one. It's been running without problems for a long time now.
