It was truck delivered to my door (it's heavy) and after reading four pages of instructions I plugged it in and vented it through one of my large windows with the one provided window barrier and the ventilation hose. It comes with a foam strip to fill in the gaps, but I used towels to improve the seal. It is recommended to wait 24 hours after delivery to ensure all the coolant has settled, so we waited. We turned it on the next day. It's noisy so I don't recommend leaving it next to the dining table but wow that quickly made the difference. There is a time function. It has a beautiful blue LED display that shows fan, cooling, heating and temperature. Connects to a normal household socket. I left it on for 24 hours and it kept the room at the desired temperature. I pulled it outside to drain the water from the inner tub (there is a drain plug on the bottom) and flush the filter screen over the inlet. For temporary cooling needs or maybe an older home that doesn't have an existing unit this is great. This one says it can cool an area of 900 square meters. My only gripe is that there is no "low power" feature that would make it easy to run on solar power or a smaller generator. I was hoping this might be a backup for power outages. That's too much for our backup system, although I'm sure it could work.
