I have an old charger that works but the display kept confusing me and I was never sure if it had completed a charge cycle or not. In addition, it hums annoyingly during operation and has no charging function. This charger has a digital display that is easier to read than the needle display on my old charger. The controls are simple enough, but some of the items that appear as buttons on the panel just seem to be "highlighted features". The Autostop, 6 Protect, LCD and Fast Charge buttons do not work and pressing these buttons does nothing. Ask me how I know lol. The remaining buttons highlighted in red are the Power button, Current button, and Supervisor button. On/Off is self explanatory, Maintenanceer is continuous charge mode and the Current button changes the amount of current being fed to the battery, but I have no idea why this is important or how to decide which current to choose. The display is clear, backlit and easy to read. I think most of us will only be interested in seeing what percentage the battery is charged to. It's worth noting that this charger cannot and should not be used to start a car with a dead battery - wait for the battery to die instead. charge to start the car without connecting the charger. If necessary, there is a fan that cools the charger. I wasn't expecting this and was dismayed when I first heard it, but it's part of normal operation. The connection to the battery is made via two medium-sized crocodile clips. I would like a variant with a permanently attached tail that attaches to the battery posts with a quick connection to the charger for more convenient drip charging and the ability to charge with the lid closed. The charger worked well to restore the battery of a car that hadn't been driven for almost 3 months so I can say it worked. It only took 30 minutes to generate enough power to start the car, which I think is more than enough. without working. For the price, this is a solid buy. The panel needs cleaning and tangled labels removed, better routing is needed and a quick connect option would be ideal. 4 stars.
