Review on Philips Sonicare FlexCare Platinum Electric Toothbrush, White Edition - HX9112: Ultimate Dental Cleaning at Your Fingertips by April Malone

Bulky, useless features, overpriced

I have used Sonicare for many years and I highly recommend them. My old toothbrush broke the shaft holding the brush head so I had to buy a new one and decided to try this high end model. However, this model has a number of disadvantages that make the price unjustified. First I bought this model because of the pressure sensor over cheaper versions. In my opinion the sensor is not sensitive enough. I have to push really hard, much harder than is comfortable, before it signals I'm pushing too hard. The properties of the pressure sensor are completely useless. Second, the grip part is too large, not cylindrical, and the flat front surface is slippery. Also, the buttons are not waterproof and rubberized like on my previous model. This makes it difficult to work with a toothbrush. I find it tires my hand and I've accidentally dropped the brush several times. Another disappointment is that the charging station doesn't have a built-in cord wrap to handle excess cord lengths. It comes with a travel case, but there's no room in the case for a charging station, which seems like a significant omission.
