I really wanted this to work, but performance can vary quite a bit depending on the make and model of your phone. We tried it out with Amazon's custom BLU R1 HD, and the effective range for locating a tile was around 40 feet, and the effective range for calling a phone from a tile was around 30 feet with no obstacles. Being a handy finder just isn't enough - basically you have to be in the same room already - and far from the advertised range. I understand now that Bluetooth signal strength and phone reception is half the equation, but they don't advertise that it works well on SOME phones, they advertise that it only works, and the BLU R1 HD is a state-of-the-art smartphone. So there's a few hours that we'll never get back. The tile alarm volume was good, and I liked that these new ones didn't have to be thrown out when the battery was low, which kept me going. from the previous generation experiment. But it didn't work for us. Speaking of wasted time, we bought this as part of a promotional bundle deal from Amazon that got us two tile pros and a new version of the Echo Dot for $60. It turns out that trying to return part of such an order is itself a serious problem. On our order page, Revain said the price for two tiles is $42.85, which seems a little random but good. But when we did a refund, he only credited us $35 and basically charged us full price for an extra echo dot that we don't really need. I guess we'll have to wait for him to come. someday. and make a separate report about it. Anyway, the tile's specs seemed too good to be true, and for our brand of phone, they were WAY too good to be true. I would suggest that you have fewer expectations of this product than advertised.
