Some negative reviews may be user error

I have ordered this sharpener twice now. The first one didn't break on its own, but my son decided to put the pencil back in. I ordered the first one on October 18, 2011. I wanted to solve a few problems that people seem to have. I've seen people say it doesn't sharpen well. This pencil sharpener can add great sharpness to your pencil. On the back of the pencil sharpener is a small silver handle that you turn (tighten) clockwise to make your pencil shorter and blunt, counterclockwise to make it thinner and longer. Problem under some of the negative reviews. If you look at the picture of the sharpener itself, you'll see a protruding gray square. With your right (or left) hand, hold the sharpener itself, and with the other hand, press down on the tongue and pull it out until it clicks. You press the small piece again to insert the pencil (it stays put while you sharpen the pencil). Make sure your pencil is fully inserted into the sharpener, release the silver tab. Hold the sharpener and turn the handle on the back. To release the pencil again, press the gray latch mentioned a couple of times and admire the work of your little sharpener, which you proudly display on your desk because it's adorable! Another thing that can happen and be confusing is when you don't know how to fix the problem when you pull out that pencil thingy while playing but then can't figure out how to put it back in and you don't have pencil. Twist the handle on the back and it goes back inside. As I said, I liked this product so much that I replaced it when the first one broke due to abuse from my sons. I would recommend it.
