It's too early to tell how long it will last, but it's a good design. First, the controller is separate from the heater and the controller has a screw to properly attach it to the stand. I hate suction cups so there is no need to glue a magnet. The controller is easy to use, just press the "Set" button and select the temperature. Judging by other temperature sensors, the heater works. There is no separate cable for the temperature sensor, so nothing more. The main heating element looks and feels sturdy. I have to say it's a steal for the price (assuming it doesn't die tomorrow). I would love to see magnetic mounts on future heaters but that has nothing to do with the cost of this heater.
