I had the idea that maybe my ethernet box with about 15 Cat5e cables on the router would look neater if I switched to compact flat cables. The result was the opposite. The ribbon cables cannot be bundled/zipped up (neatly) and the 15 ribbon cables look like a nest of black flexible plastic fettuccine noodles. Flat cables don't always look professional, especially in tight spaces.
