Excellent canister - labeling problem solved

Keeps beans fresh. I've been using it daily for six weeks and haven't found anything to complain about except that it's an oversized 12 ounce bag of beans and a (very minor!) complaint about the lack of an easy labeling solution (labels missing to me ). the roaster usually puts on his bags!). Most bean roasters seem to sell in 12 ounce bags and as far as I can tell the smaller size is too small for that. I have the size that says "Large" and it's about half full with a full 12 ounce beans (it's now sold as "Medium" - 7 inches tall). Check out the attached picture, it's exactly 12 ounces whole. I managed to solve the labeling problem by using clear static cling film and some free labels I begged from the roaster (Wells, they're amazing) . Stickers on the foil, peel off everything and cut out. The video shows how easy it is once you have the labels. It's obviously less useful if you buy different beans each time, but I just enjoy it. I've had no trouble peeling wood tops. I usually put beans in about 4-5 days after roasting, which means most of the outgassing is complete (causing the tops to pop). The wood top is cosmetic anyway - I don't see why that should be a real issue, the plastic butt insert seals everything. Advantages: - Solos q! Good weight but still light enough for convenient daily filling of custom beans - Looks great on the counter - Easy to open (tilt the vacuum insert as others have mentioned) Cons: - No easy labeling option. See above for a solution that works if you buy from a limited number of roasters. Not the ideal size for a 12-ounce bag of beans.
