I used to only buy cheap plastic shovels because they get dirty and need to be changed regularly. But they usually have a terrible grip that hurts me when I shovel. I have 2 large male cats so their bathroom is big and heavy and there is a lot of it. So this pen is really nice and soft in hand. The main reason I got it was because I have a bad back and cleaning the tray is a very painful job. I have a hard time bending over and have to sit on a small stool while moving it away, so I'm closer to the floor but not on the floor. It definitely has a long handle so I don't have to bend down a lot. It still hurts, but a lot less than before.
