Review on Microwave Appliance Equivalent Daylight Non Dimmable by Troy Gerhardt

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good lamps for NON DIMMING applications (multiple lamps on-off) -- color temperature?

Some microwave ovens have an electronic dimmer to illuminate the hob. These lamps are NOT ADJUSTABLE. I installed them in a 2001 GE Microwave and a 2009 Frigidaire, both high end units. Both of these units use a dual bulb system that allows one or both bulbs to be turned on, but does NOT electronically dim the bulbs. The color temperature is a bit higher than I'd like - I'm guessing closer to 4000K than 3000K, but it's definitely lower (warmer) than most LEDs. The photo shows a comparison with conventional G4 submount halogen bulbs, you can see the LEDs are clearly "whiter" but not bad at all. DO NOT install in any fixture that uses an electronic dimmer or has a "theatrical" effect. 'Lighting. You can burn the dimmer circuit components in your microwave oven. When in doubt, spend the extra money and buy dimmable lightbulbs. If you want a color temperature to match your existing halogen bulbs, look (or wait) for them to arrive in the 2700K version.

Pros
  • ★Low consumption and higher brightness. Instant on at full brightness. These E17 LED bulbs are only 4W but can reach a brightness of up to 350 lumens, equivalent to 40W halogen bulbs, saving you 80% on your energy bill instantly.
Cons
  • Slightly dented
