Review on 🌸 Scent-Free Best Press Refills - Mary Ellen's 1 Gallon by Scott Rangel

Fantastic for precision tying

I've been quilting for a few years now but just started making the Farmer's Wife quilts (small 6 inch blocks) which not only were small but lots of triangles and others had details that had to be precise sewing . I mentioned my difficulties and a friend suggested trying strength. I tried cornstarch spray from the grocery store because it was easy to get. It really helped me keep the tips of my triangles very crispy. But a month later I managed to use up 2 ironing board covers and a new iron. Not to mention that I always ran out of strength. Browsing the internet, I found Best Press. I started with a small bottle but it was love. There was no smell at first, it was easy to use, it didn't build up on my iron or ironing board covers and it kept all of my triangles perfectly crisp. These days I always keep a spare gallon in the cupboard in case. Now I can't quilt without them anymore. Best Press is also very useful for adding bulk to thinner fabrics like voile grass, whether you're using them for clothing or quilting. Don't forget to use starch or a similar product before cutting and making quilt blocks! If you do this after you've cut your pieces, or even after you've cut your blocks, you can cause the fabrics to warp or shrink, causing wrinkles.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad but...
