First time reviewers should contact Ioptron. You will do it right. I have had no problems with this product and am very happy with its performance. It's not a premium star tracker, but you won't find a better device for the price. In fact, this device is comparable to devices at much higher prices. I made his own wedge and use it as an equatorial mount. The handset, the brains of the device, is very easy to use and understand. The backlight has different brightness levels and turns off after a few minutes of inactivity. Haven't done 3 star alignment yet but it does a good job on 1 star alignment. I use it for astrophotography, but be aware that you have fast shutter speeds and need to stack photos to keep track from drifting a bit. As I said, I haven't done a 3-star alignment yet. It can drift less if done right. Installation is no more difficult than any other equalizer mount. The included tripod is solid and stable, but I opted for a taller tripod to save my back. None of the cons I've listed lower my score because for the price this is a great buy. It took a day for Ioptron customer service to contact me, but they were very friendly to communicate with and they are users of their own product, very open to suggestions and very helpful. I called to ask a few questions and didn't call about the issue. I'm using a Celestron C90 Mak with a Canon Rebel attached and it handles the load with ease.
