Ease of installation. Simple and convenient for daily storage.

They are advertised as hard wearing and go very well with our rolled rugs as shown in the photo. Make sure you research the applicable weight specifications for what you plan to hang. I wouldn't use a single hook for a bike (perhaps a kid's bike), but I would definitely use it for storing inner tubes, Christmas wreaths, heavy-duty extensions, and some PVC pipe (with multiple hooks, of course). If you're looking for a simple kayak storage solution I wouldn't use these hooks - use a lifting system instead.
