Cool product for the price

I've just discovered these things and I think they're great for what you pay for and what they can do. I hooked it up to my turntable's line out so I could hear it on my back porch. For this I used the Up2Stream Mini on my receiver below. Setup was easy, quick and hassle-free. Bluetooth works, but I wouldn't plan a long distance from your phone (or whatever) to the device. Well, there are some issues I've encountered with my particular setup. A mini-line output going to the receiver's phono input makes a TERRIBLE sound; This is dirty/plain heavy shit. If you connect it to another input without a preamp, it will be too quiet. The solution was pretty simple: I had to plug the mini into the player's little preamp and then into the CD (or similar) input and it sounded great. The delay between the real player and what lands on the mini from the pro is around 1-2 seconds. I've tested it on a modern receiver and on my 1978 Pioneer with the same results. Not sure why it doesn't work when connected to the phone jack, but it just didn't work. I think if I plugged it directly into a small amp for a set of remote speakers it would be great.

Pros

Cons
  • Makes me nervous
