General: 100% anodized aluminum with stainless steel hardware. The mounting screw is "stuck" and won't fall out (common sense - find the threaded end of the groove and screw the screw in there). A couple of rubber pads to keep the camera in place. Screw stops on the long and short plates to prevent slipping (can be removed). There are some mounting holes for accessories on the left side, but once the plate is in place the pointed corners on the bottom left are awkward - this is of course where your left hand rests when holding the lens. So one of the corners keeps digging into my palm. I don't know what you would put here that doesn't get in the way unless it's on a tripod. I mainly use it when I need to change camera orientation and want to use a tripod. I prefer that to turning the tripod head sideways, because then I have to change the height, etc. With this mount, all you have to do is turn your head, turn the camera around, put it back. Lasts every 10 seconds.
