The birds are singing again

My daughter bought a clock at a flea market that plays a different bird call every hour. When we got him home I checked to see if the bird calls worked and they did. So we put batteries in the watch and she went to her apartment. Unfortunately, two weeks later she told me the clock was running slow. She said they are at least 20 minutes behind every day. When I opened up the movement on my workbench, I saw that one of the movement's cogs had at least one tooth chipped out. Not knowing anything about quartz movements with the latest bell features, I had to do a little searching to find what I needed. Luckily, Revain's search tool was smart enough to quickly find the right product. The interchangeable mechanism was easy to install and connect to the bell box. The hands of the old clock fit perfectly. (Yes, it took some time to get the hands set properly so they were in sync with the movement. But that's not a problem with changing the movement; it's just the nature of the beast.) Now my daughter gets each Another bird call. hour and also gets the satisfaction of knowing that what they found at the flea market wasn't wasted.
