Review on ๐Ÿข Keurig K155 Office Pro Commercial Coffee Maker: Single Serve K-Cup Pod Brewer, Silver, with Extra Large 90 Oz. Water Reservoir by Eric Speers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My TRUE score of 10 is a solid 9. (Two week test)

If you're looking for a Keurig that offers both quality materials and impressive looks, take a look at the K155. !I want to start with the most common mistake I read in reviews: metallic/synthetic taste in the car. That's easy. First off, this is a brand new machine, straight from the factory (at least I would hope so given the $200+ price tag) - so that's to be expected on first use. To get rid of this taste, follow these instructions: (1) Rinse the tank with warm water. (2) Fill the tank with tap water just below the max. (3) Add 1/2 cup of white vinegar. (4) Leave the mixture on for up to thirty minutes. (5) Brew the mixture in the machine (simulate brewing multiple cups of coffee without adding the K-Cup). (6) When prompted to fill the tank, fill it to the maximum mark with plain tap water. (7) Run this water all the way through the machine to remove excess vinegar. (8) Now when prompted to fill the reservoir, rinse the reservoir with warm tap water. (9) Fill with filtered water. (10) Enjoy your coffee (please). Plus, every cup of coffee made using this method gets better and better. There are four (4) brew volume options: 4 oz, 6 oz, 8 oz and 10 oz. I was initially disappointed with this, but found that after I got smart and brewed, say, a 16-ounce cup (8 ounces, twice using the same K-cup), the coffee's aroma was noticeably toned down. From my experience it has become clear that for the best quality and flavor a K-cup should be brewed no more than 10 ounces. In the long run, that means coffee brewed in Keurig is a lot more expensive than plain old filter brewed coffee. Overall, though, choosing a cheaper coffee maker means you (1) sacrifice convenience. Keurig K-Cups work quickly and easily because you don't have to reach for and feel for the coffee filter, measure the ground coffee-to-water ratio, or worry about a thorough cleaning. You will also (2) sacrifice the practicality of maintaining a variety of coffee flavors. If you want to try different flavors the old-fashioned way, you need to buy several large bags of different flavors, which can lose their freshness in a short time. K-Cups are individually wrapped coffee beans and can be purchased in a selection of different flavors that you can choose from right in your machine and brew in seconds. The bottom line is that there is a lot to owning a Keurig machine and the K155 will not disappoint. It has a large water tank that can brew about 10 cups of coffee with one fill. I don't find refueling impractical. I no longer have that "god, I just filled that thing up a few hours ago" feeling that cheaper Keurig models had. It's solid compared to cheaper models. Adding the K-Cup and closing the latch gives you a nice, secure, secure fit and no longer feels like you could damage the machine. The water heats up in about 60 seconds and can stay hot as long as the machine is on. Great for that quick cup of joe on the run. The touch screen is great. This is something that will impress you and your guests as it is very attractive and responsive. A light touch is all it takes to select the amount of your drink, then simply press the big (and arguably cutest) button below the screen that says "BREW" and get ready to zen in your mug. The water temperature heats up PERFECTLY, just like a cup of coffee was intended. Spicy but without burning the taste buds on the tongue. Beautiful heater with Starbucks care. This model can be installed on a water line that will automatically fill the machine with filtered water throughout use. However, this convenience requires you to purchase an optional $180 plumb bob kit. As mentioned above, refilling the included reservoir at my home has been a hassle so far. However, if I'm buying this for my small business I might consider investing in a plumbing kit. My biggest criticism of this piece is that it's so pretty in my kitchen that I can't resist the urge to brew a cup. Coffee! Like a fly to the light, I am drawn to my Keurig K155. I'm sure my coffee consumption has increased since I bought this machine! Why only 4 stars you ask? Well 5 stars would mean perfection. It's far from perfect as it does NOT guarantee me much time with it (10+ year full replacement warranty would give it a perfect score). My true rating for this would be 4.5 if I could, but this is a challenge for Revain to improve on.
