Review on ๐Ÿ‘ถ Derson 29.93-51.5" Extra Wide Baby Gate: Ultimate Safety for Stairs, Doorways, and Pets by Amber Loridon

Well built gate, very strong once installed and should fit *most* openings

This gate is very well built and very strong when properly installed. I was impressed that this gate is actually heavier and better built than the Cambor gate we bought a year ago, although they look and function almost the same. The kit contains 3 extensions: 2.75", 5.5" and 11", which should provide a 2.75" pitch and should be suitable for most situations (more information below). If you have a baseboard, be sure to consider the width at the top and bottom as you may need to add wall protection at the top for this gate to work. I only have 2 small complaints. First, the clamp screws are long enough to bridge the width difference until the next lengthening is required. Our Cumbor gates have a 1/2-3/4 inch overlap, which is handy if you have a baseboard and they're in between the extension sizes. Another complaint is the reinforcements that go into the bottom of the collar to give extra support to the extensions, which are made of shiny galvanized steel that's irritating to the eyes. They also scratch the surface of the tube. I removed the ones I needed to color temporarily, but make sure they're installed! Extensions are added at the following intervals: 32.25", 35", 37.75", 40.5", 43.25", 46", and 48.75", which are every 3 Extensions used. Measure at the baseboard and above the baseboard. If both measurements fall in the same "interval" then you are fine. If the measurement above is in the next larger range, you will need something to take up the extra space, e.g B. Wall protection plates I would recommend wall protection if you are also at the top of the category just to reduce the overhang of the jacking screws which are the weakest link When you have finished installing the gate make sure that the studs are not too far away.. Anything more than 1.5" between the bolt and the white plastic nut is too much and the bolt can be pulled out of the bolt with moderate force. My goal ended up with just over 1 inch as shown in the picture.
