I used this as part of my home inspection. In theory, very useful for detecting hard-to-detect moisture in drywall, or detecting overheated light switches and circuit breakers. The problem with this device is the short battery life and problems with charging the battery. I read the reviews before buying and I was able to get around the short battery life. Flir claims that I've experienced around 30 minutes of battery life at 45 minutes. The charging time was usually over 4 hours, and without use, it would be fully discharged within 5-7 days. Should have contacted FLIR earlier as the battery issue appears to be a design flaw which they are aware of based on comments on their website.
