Update: You know how everyone video confers these days? What many of us have probably come to know are older relatives and friends who had old computers and little or no technical know-how. Well a friend I love was on this boat a few weeks ago so I decided to give her my webcam precisely because it is so straightforward and easy to use! I didn't want to go to her house to make sure I didn't accidentally transmit Covid so I needed something she could do herself. That. was. Brilliant! She successfully connected it after a little training on where to plug it in. It worked with their outdated computer, required no professional installation, and right away with no issues. It changed her life! She is now able to reconnect with her friends, family and church for the first time in months and I don't need to tell you how important this is to an elderly person who lives alone and is even more isolated due to a lack of technology! I personally loved it and would recommend it to anyone, but I highly recommend sending it to everyone you know who may not be able to video chat and interact with the outside world and have old computers, especially to lonely elderly people. This is a find! First review: I see its use for non-smart TVs and external computer monitors, and I use it for the latter because my external display is the primary display and my laptop's camera doesn't work very well. It was a good result. Love the quality of the photos and videos and the fact that the camera rotates easily on its base, much easier than moving your own laptop screen if you ask me! And that he has a good microphone, because that was important to me. It wasn't too difficult to set up which confused me at first, I just plugged it into USB and it was connected. My computer didn't necessarily "recognize" it when I thought of looking for it as a device, but it was an option when I opened apps that use the camera/mic. This means that while it doesn't allow for much finesse or flexibility in terms of fine-tuning the settings, it's the easiest device to use as it doesn't require any effort on your part. I think this would make a great gift for those who are less tech savvy and may find it difficult to set up a complex device. Overall I think this is a great camera/mic image/video wise. / Sound quality, if you consider the lack of complexity as a minus, you can find the price at a higher level, but I just see it as a device that requires a lot less work from me, so it's worth the extra money!
