Not for a serious ring maker

The unit I have still works but I can tell the gears are starting to wear out as the mechanism gets a little "sticky/chunky" after about 15 rings " becomes. Reason for only 3 stars: The plate does not have reduction dies large enough to accommodate larger rings (large quarter sizes are also an issue). I have also found that the reduction plate does not polish as well as some other more expensive devices and can sometimes leave marks on the outside of the ring. Overall not bad for making multiple rings but I would recommend this subframe/reducer to hobbyists only. For a reputable manufacturer of Durston rings, although more expensive,
