Review on Filtrete Standard Filtration Sediment 3US AS01 by Lacueva Tranquillity

Great inexpensive kitchen upgrade that works well. Get rid of the chlorine taste in our water!

Our city water was getting worse and worse because of the strong chlorine taste. Filtered water in the fridge is great, but it takes forever to fill jugs or anything other than a small glass of water. If your fridge doesn't have a water dispenser, this is the solution. We recently had triplets, made baby food from a jug and wanted to be able to use filtered water. I was skeptical about this device because of the price but decided to try it believing that we can always replace the standard filter. with an improved model if it doesn't seem to be doing its job. We have been very pleased with the device and based on my limited experience I see no need for anything more complex or expensive than this. It's durable, has a large filter, and comes with everything you need to install using standard 3/8" plumbing (almost every kitchen faucet uses this size). We only installed it on the cold side of our faucet. in less than ten minutes. There was a little dripping from one of the quick disconnects at first, but after you removed and reinserted the hose and wiggled it, it seemed to stick nicely. I believe the instructions say not to use it with hot water and don't know why you should. Taste difference day and night. My wife is more picky about water than me and can now use the kitchen faucet for drinking water. The chlorine taste is gone, it's at least as good as what we're used to from the fridge and really close to any bottled water. Everything we need filtered drinking water for we can now get straight from the tap quickly and easily which is great for a series of items such as juice. This slowed the flow of water somewhat. ct is advertised at 2 GPM. Prior to installation, I measured the jug fill time at 29 seconds, pretty much 2 gallons per minute. With the filter installed, speed dropped slightly to about 35 seconds per gallon, which is about 1.7 gpm. In practice, the difference is minimal. Highly recommended, quick and inexpensive, and you'll appreciate it if this is your first time making a gallon of juice or if you don't have a dispenser in your fridge.

Pros
  • QUICK REPLACEMENT. The filters in this system are easy to install, requiring only a quarter turn for quick replacement.
Cons
  • Expensive.
