We all know how VERY FAST you can sauté spinach. I poured about 2 TB of water into the pot and set the burner to maximum temperature (5). After 15 minutes, some bubbling appeared from under the spinach, but a small amount of water wasn't even remotely bubbling or boiling. I lifted the pot to see what the burner looked like. Of the three concentric rings that made up this burner, only the inner one was slightly red. At setting "5" you expect the burner to glow red hot. NO! If that doesn't even cook the spinach, I doubt you could sear a meat or grilled cheese sandwich. I cannot recommend this product and am returning it.
