Review on Rite Edge Pearl Stockman Knife by Jeremy Sabey

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It doesn't get any cheaper

I have a collection of pocket knives from American companies and they are great. But they cost a lot of money. I decided to research imported Chinese knives because a lot of people like them. I particularly liked the Rough Ryder knives. Well made, durable with good fit and finish. Standard Rough Ryders knives cost between $15 and $20. So I decided to see what a regular $9 change would be like. Actually I was very impressed. It's an improvement over the Rough Ryders - the bushings are steel instead of brass, there are a few small gaps in the rear springs, and it feels downright filthy. But after cleaning and oiling the grain is gone and it's a damn good knife. It would be nice to wear it every day. Buy without fear, but expect it to take 20 minutes to clean and oil before use, especially if you're giving it as a gift.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • I have some doubts
