Confirmed: Ethernet <100Mbps

This got great reviews from WireCutter and I ordered it. I love that it stops working when my hardware is no longer protected. I've seen lower speeds when running my ethernet through a surge protector. Without: Upload 170 to 200 Mbit/s, Upload 20 Mbit/s With: Upload 80 Mbit/s, Upload 20 Mbit/s . My cable line comes from telephone poles and can be struck by lightning. I was having trouble starting a cable line surge protector - the cable modem is slower/has problems. By putting a surge protector on the ethernet coming out of the cable modem, I can lose the cable modem but not other devices connected via wired ethernet cables.
