This mic was purchased to be used as the primary zoom mic as all the other mics had issues. The mute button is handy. The sound quality is definitely good enough for a "talking voice" making it a great addition to Zoom. I would NOT make this my first choice for use on musical instruments or for singing, although it could come in handy as an inexpensive secondary mic. The included mini- Tripod is fine, but the 5/8" thread allows me to screw it directly onto a cheap mic stand: no separate mic clip is required, so the mic won't slip or fall off.
