Enjoyed this as my first drone and flew several days a week for a couple of weeks. Flying is fun. On the first day I fell a lot (a few hard ones) and got a few scratches, but nothing broke. I'm not sure a more expensive drone will survive crashes. It has 3 modes: beginner, intermediate and advanced; accordingly slow, medium and fast. The first day I took it outside it was in launch mode (slow) and couldn't fly upwind. He crashed into a tree. Luckily no damage. Battery life is likely to be in the 10-15 minute range (two batteries included giving a total flight time of 20-30 minutes). My main complaint is that it has a fairly short range. 248g is under the FAA registration limit, so that's good. However, due to its short range, it would be difficult to lift it into airspace where airplanes would operate anyway. Claimed 60 meters for video and 150 meters for the controller exaggerate. Got a range warning, probably half of it, and it doesn't have GPS to return home. So if it's out of range you might have to run fast or lose it. There's also some video lag, so skimming video isn't practical. The Holy Stone HS120D GPS drone is in the same price range but also has GPS return home and some other nice features and good reviews. I may upgrade to this or one of the more expensive DJI drones with a better camera in the future. I would say that the main benefit of this drone is its stability when dropped. If you're happy with the short range, lack of GPS, and advanced features, the durability is great for beginners.
